Mibu nno hanadaue A rice-planting event　in Hiroshima (Chiyoda) hanadaue is a With the musical accompaniment of a band and 15 head of decorative cattle, preparations are made for rice planting as they were long, long ago. It's getting hotter and humid in Hiroshima these days.. Summer is on its way for sure! Before starting Summer, One of the three biggest festivals in Hiroshima will be held in early June!

☆☆TOUKASAN FESTIVAL ☆☆

Toukasan is the summer festival for the god of Touka Daimyoujin at Enryuji temple in Hiroshima city.

The festival is also known as the Yukata Festival.  Yukata is like a summer robe.
People in Hiroshima are supposed to begin wearing it from this day on.

During the three days of the festival, hundreds of street stalls with games and snack foods appear along Chuo Dori Avenue

 

Mean while, there is a parade of cheerful Bon-dance dancers preceding the coming of summertime.

Today the Toukasan Festival is recognised as a seasonal event to let people know of the arrival of summer. The atendance throughout the festival depends on the weather, but averages as many as 450,000 every year!!

One of biggest festival in Hiroshima is coming soon in MAY!
The Hiroshima Flower Festival has been held every year since 1977 during Golden week,from 3 May to 5 May. More than one million people take part in the festival each year.
I went there when I was kid, and I remember it was great fun!

The festival includes multiple stages for entertainment, shops, a small zoo, and other amusement attractions along Peace Boulevard and in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Many concerts, dancing shows, fashion shows, talk shows,  and traditional andcontemporary performances featuring local citizens and other events are held throughout the area. Locals also participate in aparade, and Yosakoi dance on Peace Boulevard.

Restoration work at ITSUKUSHIMA-JINJA O-Torii

Due to the strong wind on 3rd of April, some part of O-Torii were destroyed. They are having emergency restoration on following dates, so will be scaffolding. They will continue lighting-up O-Torii. Term of restoration: 19th of April- 18th of June. so please acknowledge about it before you go to Miyajima!
